Im seeing spots...

Good morning everyone I hope your doing well and have a good week...we went shopping yesterday, I was just noticing and a few people we met have commented that my Dad is looking really well, I think his eyes were really getting him down and he just wouldn't admit it...now he has that wicked twinkle in his eyes back, if I could just get him to go see an ear specialist and getting his hearing sorted out he wouldn't have to constantly ask me what people are saying...thing is he asks me way after the event and some days my memory isn't the best and I cant remember...you know if you put my Dad and me together you must get a whole person that everything works on lol...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Crafts and Me challenge, our challenge this time is Pearls and Lace, I used this stunningly beautiful Spring image from Sara Burrier at Crafts and Me for my card, gorgeous isn't she...I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with this lacy paper from Kars...I love this paper its so so pretty and perfect for this challenge...I used the lace paper to cut out circles for the fab sketch from The Sweet Stop challenge and finished with some different coloured pearls...the sketch is a really simple one but looks fantastic don't you think...I'm also entering it for the Paper Sundaes challenge...I'm hopefully going to finish off the cards I started at the beginning of the week today, well that's the plan anyway but you never know do you, the call of the outside might just call to me...whatever your up to today have a fantastic one and if you have the time pop on over to the Crafts and Me challenge to see what the rest of our team came up with

Good morning everyone did you all have a wonderful weekend?...I think we have finally recovered from our trip thank goodness, we had a little mooch around Town yesterday and went out for a lush lunch at a great little bistro...yummy food and the most amazing decor as its also a shop what I would call knicky knacky shop, you know one of those places that sells nothing you need but everything you would love to own...gorgeous pictures especially but astronomically expensive...when we came out there was a mini storm going on, the winds were swirling and it just ripped my umbrella out of my hand and when we got back to the car it was covered in a film of sand????...we are about 5 miles from the sea so go figure where that came from, what on earth is next raining frogs???...anyway onto my card for today which is for our new monthly challenge at Bunny Zoe's Crafts challenge, this month the theme is a really easy one of Anything Goes, so whatever you would like really...I chose this stunning Tilda from the new Summer Memories collection called Rose Garden Tilda, isn't she stunning, I'm loving these new ones they are a little bit smaller and more delicate feeling than the normal Tilda's and beautiful to colour...I used distress inks for mine and teamed her up with these stunning Magnolia papers called Rose Garden (rose one) and Sage Kitchen Cloth (check one) aren't they beautiful...the stamp and paper is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished with a checked ribbon and one of the roses cut from the paper (I love doing this any excuse to cut things up lol)...the fab sketch is from Creative Inspirations challenge and I'm also entering it into the last ever CES Challenge and the Lovely hAnglar & Sweet Magnolia challenge too...I'm having a crafting day today my scissors are crying out to me to cut more things up, so I'm going to fish out all the lush papers and ribbons I have bought over the last few weeks...btw did you all enter my ribbon candy, they really are fantastic ribbons and there is loads of them...its on the post below...whatever your up to today watch out for the frogs

WHO FANCIES 20 METRES OF LUSH RIBBON?...

Hi everyone I hope your having a fantastic weekend...we are having a resting one as we are still shattered from our little trip...it was a great day out but you wouldn't want to do it every week...ooohhhh I forgot to tell you while we were out and about we called into Aldi (would you believe Northern Ireland doesn't have Aldi), I had heard their moisturiser is excellent so decided while we thereabout I would get some, boy did I buy a lot lol...anyway I was sitting in the car and said I had never thought to smell it as strong artificial smells like perfume give me severe migraines...so I pulled the top of it and the whole thing came away in my hand, I was covered from head to foot in cream...and it went all over the dashboard and window too...you should have seen Phil's face lol...its a good thing I have a sense of humour isn't it...anyway enough waffle, who fancies the chance to win 20 metres of my lush ribbons I use the photo dosent do them justice at all (these are the ones I use myself not ones I wont use, including loads of checks and gingham's you have seen on my cards lately too), over the last few weeks every time I bought ribbons I bought an extra metre to give away so I have amassed 20 metres to give to you...so what do you need to do

you don't need to be a follower but of course I would love it if you wanted too and
you liked my work enough to
put a link in Mr Linky AND leave me a comment
add a link and the photo on your blog (sidebar is fine)
even if your not too keen on ribbon (shock horror) tell all fellow ribbon freaks about it so they can join in
well that's it really, its open worldwide and you have until Midnight Saturday 19th May and I will announce the winner on the 20th
well that's me for today I will speak to you all tomorrow and good luck with the ribbon candy

Freaky weather and a bit of bling...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and have a fab weekend planned...we went on our trip yesterday and got all our paperwork signed and sealed, its was bright sunshine all the way down and we were on our way back and were talking about the strange weather there had been in England with all the super cell storms and a hailstorm hit us, it wasn't even cold and these huge hailstone were bouncing off the car, it was one of those twilight moments when I expected to see a twister and be swept away to Oz but it stopped as quickly as it started and the strange thing was it was still sunshine...freaky eh...we stopped a couple of times on our way back and finally got home about 7pm...phew that was a long day as we left at 7.30am, poor Phil even had to stop on the way back as his foot had gone to sleep...we had chinese and watched the Immortals, I love greek mythology but I'm not quite sure which hollywood volume of greek mythology that film came out of as it sure wasn't a greek book lol...my card for today is using the stunningly beautiful Melissa image from Crafts and Me, how stunning is this vampire and her wolf...I coloured her with distress inks and added a bit of glitter (I know there's no wings but there is snow so glittered it was)...the gorgeous papers are a couple of loose ones from my stash and I think they are Basicgrey...I finished my card with some lace, more gingham ribbon (OI seem to have a thing for gingham ribbon atm dont I, and a stunning Prima gold glittered flower...the fabulous sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

for those who asked here a quick photo of the two blingy brooches I bought at the Antique fair last week...gorgeous aren't they...you can see why I was attracted cant you being half magpie lol...we are off out with my Dad today, well that's if I can get myself awake long enough, we are still shattered from yesterday...I will catch up with you all tonight on my hopping and whatever your up to watch out for the freaky hailstorms...oh and don't forget I have lush ribbon candy for you all tomorrow

its a double...I really need a diary...

Good morning everyone I hope the weather is a bit better where you are, its has been raining here for about 24 hours and is so so cold...its more January than May...we are off on a sad little jaunt today, Phil's boss gave him today off to go down to the farmhouse to finish off signing documents and papers needed to tie up any loose ends, kinda sad but we have decided to make it a day out and stop a few times at an antique village and for breakfast...we are making this the start of a new chapter rather than the end of one...that's the way to do it don't you think...onwards and upwards...Phil seems ok about things and that would be the only thing I would really worry about...my lovely Dad and I were having our 'PTWTR' coffee yesterday and guess who arrived back, yep you guessed it the 'builders bum' girl, same trousers different top...my Dad says 'Mina go pull that girls trousers up will you its putting me off my tea again', now him being a bit deaf you can imagine how loud that came out lol...he is so dry and funny and always makes me giggle...right now I have to get on as its a double day...

LinkI seriously need to buy myself a diary as I have two Guest spots today so this is quite a long post I'm afraid...soz...I was lucky enough to win a Guest spot on the Fussy & Fancy Friday challenge blog, their theme for this fortnights challenge is Butterflies, Ribbons & Punches and you still have a week to enter it...I chose this amazing Bildmalarna - Tulips stamp and I used her with some of the amazing new Magnolia papers this one is called Magnolia Forget Me Not 12" x 12" Paper, stunning isn't it, I bought the stamp and punch from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...the punches I used are a Tonic doily one and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, I punched it twice once in white to make a white underlay for it...I finished with a gorgeous blue ribbon...the fab sketch is from the Card Patterns weekly sketch blog

my next card is for the Stamp Fairy Blog who kindly asked me to do a couple of Guest spots for their new releases...how cute is this little fella called Barry Moving and you can get him at the Stamp Fairy shop, I love white teddies so kept him white with shading and a cute pink nose...the lush papers are from My Minds Eye-A Happy Heart 6x6 pad, I bought this at the Kings Hall craft show at a bargain price its such a lush coloured paper pad too, I love it...I finished with a rippled ribbon and bow, a few buttons and a freebie circular sentiment from the Stamp Fairy Shop...the fab sketch is from the Sketch File challenge...phew that was a long one wasn't it, thanks for sticking with me

I used distress inks for both my images of course...btw a few people have asked me about tutorials for distress ink colouring, its not that I dont want to show you all how I do it, its just I'm absolutely rubbish at tutorials and they take me days and days to make, but I promise next week I will sit down and do my best to right out a post explaining the best I can how I do it and what I use if you think it will be of any help...I'm off to put some war paint on now for our little jaunt (I dont even put the bin out without at least masscara and lippy on)...whatever your up to today I hope it stays dry for your and if you have time pop on over to The Stamp Fairy Blog and the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge blog to see my posts...ooohhhh two in one day how chuffed am I lol

Good morning everyone I hope your all well...thank you all so so much for all your lovely messages yesterday, full of encouragement they really made me feel like I had made the right decisions...I had a fantastic night last night just surfing along and blogging and really enjoying just reading your blogs, I noticed a few people have been joining in with a before and after challenge to show an old piece of work, so I had a look at some of my older ones (the worst ones from the very beginning are long gone thank goodness) the ones that are left are pretty bad mind,so I will give you all a good laugh and have a play along I think...I had a brill afternoon with my lovely Dad yesterday we did a bit of shopping, had coffee had a bit of a natter then when he dropped me off he asked 'will you go food shopping with me tomorrow', am I wrong or hadn't we just been, I wondered why he hadnt bought much in the supermarket lol...I guess it gets him out and I don't mind I love spending time with him so any excuse...my card for today (see I warned you there would be lots more Mos) is my last for the Colour Create challenge I must admit I was sad at leaving CC because it was my very very first DT spot from way way back...this time the challenge is our fabulous Edna's choice and she chose the fab combo of green, brown, white with a touch of lavender or purple with an added option of using metal, I used this fabulous Mo's Digital Pencil image called Girl Holding Empty Sign I added the sentiment using word art and coloured her with distress inks...the amazingly coloured paper is from Echo Park Summer days collection and is called Quilt, I bought loads of these at the weekend so you will see more...I finished with some purple organza ribbon and a brown satin ribbon bow, a sprinkling of pearls and the amazing metal rose is a charm with the ring cut off...the fab sketch is from Totally Gorjuss challenge and I'm also entering it for the Paper Pretties challenge (oops too late) and the Creative Card Crew challenge if you have time today pop on over to Colour Create challenge and say hello to the girls, they work so hard for the challenge and deserve it...I'm off out to the supermarket, yet again today lol and then out to dinner with our beautiful Daughter and her other half this evening...whatever your up to I hope you don't spend it in the supermarket

Good morning everyone, did you all have a fantastic bank holiday weekend, for those who got the bank holiday of course...the heavens opened very early in the morning here so we decided we would go to the Antiques Fair, so many lovely sparkly things (Phil thinks I'm part Magpie) so we spent hours there and I bought two gorgeous blingy brooches, one for me one for our Daughter, the woman said one was 1940's and the other 50's...hhhmmmmmmm not sure about that but they were only £15 for the two so I thought they were a bargain anyway...then we decided to have lunch in the Hotel where it was, we went for a platter for two which at £11 we thought would be a nice not too heavy lunch...omg I have never seen so much food for two people...it made the table groan...the light lunch idea went flying out the window...home, changed and relaxing for the rest of the afternoon was called for, well we had to rest our full tums didn't we, so a nice day all in all...right now onto my card for today which is using this fabulous Funky Kits cutie, its from the Home Grown Sugar Nellie collection and is called Faye and Freddie, isn't she a sweetie and I love that frog...I coloured her with distress ins and of course she has wings and you now I have to use glitter on wings, its the crafting law isn't it?...how amazing is this paper from Graphic45, I'm loving orange atm for some reason and this colour combo with the green leaves and splash of red is just lush isn't it...the paper is from the Tropical Travelogue collection and is called Island Jewel...maybe I love this paper because it reminds me of tropical holidays oooohhhhhhhh wouldn't you just love a few weeks somewhere tropical...I finished my card with some of the lush flowers cut from the paper, a sentiment from my stash and a lush two tone orange ribbon...the lush sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering it for the Anything Goes challenge and the Crafty Calender challenge...I'm having a crafting day today, I feel the need to colour and when you gotta colour you just gotta haven't you, you girls now what I mean don't you...whatever your up to today I hope the heavens don't open on you and you stay dry and warm

fancy a bite?...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and have a fantastic weekend planned, oh I forgot to tell you that when we were at the supermarket on Thursday we were just starting our shopping when my Dad nudged me with a grin and arched his eyebrows towards a young woman who was bending over, she had THE worst case of builders bum we had ever seen and that included most builders...for those of you who don't now what builders bum is...its when builders don't keep their trousers pulled up enough and there is always a valley of buttocks showing, made even worse when they bend over...I was so tempted to tell her but then it wasn't very warm and I'm sure she new just how much was showing...mind it wasn't much better when she straightened up...seriously woman check your clothing before you leave the house, you would wonder if some people get dressed in the dark wouldn't you lol, now don't get me wrong I'm not the height of fashion or by any stretch of the imagination slim but I do make sure my bits are at least covered and hopefully dont have bits that should so stay covered arent going to pop out...right now onto my card for today, I used the amazingly beautiful Bite? from Mo's Digital Pencil, I love this image her face is just stunning, I kept my colouring with distress ins very monochrome and just did mostly shading and a bit of greens to match this incredible Graphic45 Rainforest double sided paper from their Tropical Travelogue range...I couldn't resist this amazing paper, I think it was the colours, so lush and well...er...tropical lol...I finished my card with a gorgeous satin black bow and a few pearls in different shades of green...the fantastic cas sketch is from Twisted Tuesday challenge and I'm also entering it for the Cutie Pie challenge too...we are off out today and you never now where we will end up...I feel an Ikea moment coming on but sssssshhhhhhh dont tell Phil lol...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and watch out for builders bum syndrome

a cutie in green...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and not getting any of the virus that are floating around atm (btw whats the plural of virus?)...we went shopping yesterday and put the world to rights over a pot of tea and a coffee so you are all safe to leave your homes and enjoy the fresh air lol...I love those chats with my Dad he gets so animated about some things and if we could just get him around a table with the world leaders he would send them away with red ears, maybe that's all they need lol...he was talking about going away to Sicily in June and is so looking forward to it although he does find air travel harder and harder it will make it much easier that hes travelling with my Sister and Brother in Law this time, at least he wont be tucked into a corner by a porter and left there for hours until he is due on the plane...you know if I was a porter and I know they are busy, I would at least push him to a cafe to get tea or a newsagent to get something to read wouldn't you...I guess they just don't think about it...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge...this time its our monthly challenge and our fabulous Sara's turn to chose an added option and she chose Swirls and Pearls, although of course you don't need to use this option and can just go with the Anything Goes monthly challenge instead...I used this fantastic new Summer Flower Tilda from the new Magnolia Summer Memories collection, I'm loving this collection and bought three of the new stamps and loads of the papers too, well I couldn't resist could I lol, I coloured my Tilda with distress inks and the fantastic papers I teamed her up with are from the new Bazzill Basics 6x6" Multipack - Vintage Marketplace (this jumped into my basket too lol)...this is a fantastic heavyweight paper with lush summer designs on, the stamp and papers I bought at Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I finished my card with a few white swirl rubon's in the corners, a fab coloured seam binding, pearls and a flower charm I bought at the last craft show...the fab sketch is from the Sunday Sketch and Stamp challenge and I'm also entering it for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge and One Stop Craft challenge too...I'm going to do some clearing out of drawers today I now don't all swoon, me clearing out things lol...well I have to make room for Phil don't I...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and try your best to squash the urge to clean

a rant on my soapbox moment...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and happy and enjoying this bit of good weather we are having...although if we wait a few days I'm sure a storm will come along to wash us out...ok prepare yourself for a soapbox moment...over the last few days our small town has been in shock at the murder of a well loved and very well know 72 year old man who lived with and looked after his disabled wife, a man (well I call him a man there's a lot more choice words to describe him though) broke into their home at 1.30am and he tried to stop the burglar who fought with him then moved onto his 70 year old wife who was in bed unable to get up...he demanded money from her and left with £376 and her purse, she rang an ambulance and the police but her husband was dead by the time they arrived...what the hell is wrong with this world when someone could do this to such a lovely fragile couple for the sake of a few pound...I really despair for mankind sometimes don't you...as you can imagine I'm hardly sleeping with worry over my precious Dad as they haven't caught the man yet (hes local as he had a local accent so probably knew the couple and their circumstances), I have tried but cant persuade him to come to me as he doesn't want someone like this thug to chase him out of his home, of course it doesn't stop us worrying sick, about him...why and how do things like this happen, I feel sick at the thought of what that couple went through...I'm sorry about the rant but it has been stuck in my throat and had to come out...right now enough ranting and onto my card for today using this stunning Simply Adorable image from Funky Kits this is the beautiful Connie...isn't she beautiful, I love colouring the Simply Adorables don't you, I used distress inks and teamed her up with some of the My Minds Eye Six by Six Honey Cake paper pad, one of my bargain buys...I finished my card with some gorgeous cotton gingham ribbon and bow and a few flowers cut from the same paper pad...the fab sketch is from Mojo Monday and I'm also entering it for the Card Makin Mamas challenge and the Creative Card Crew challenge...its supermarket day with my lovely Dad today and don't worry I will keep trying to persuade him to stay, you never now maybe we will even manage a put the world to rights coffee too lol...whatever your up to today stay safe
